Yet another 1.5 test
January 20th, 2006Ok, I think I finally fixed #171. Also, this one contains the speech fixes from the previous one.
Ok, I think I finally fixed #171. Also, this one contains the speech fixes from the previous one.
Seems the last test fixed the speech bug, but this one will break it again, because I still need to get that fix off the failed hard drive. This one should fix #171 with dragging groups around.
I decided that it might be useful to create a blog for my contributions to Fire, so here it is. I hope to post here each time I create a snapshot build, so you can subscribe to the RSS feed to know when a snapshot is posted.
I created a test build of 1.5 to see if this one finally fixes the problems with speech. I am grasping at straws here. Anyone have any ideas?
We recently decided that we are going to move some stuff off of sourceforge. As a result, we bought a domain for Fire http://www.fireim.org We started moving trackers, and sourceforge uses activity there to judge project activity. We jumped to rank 44. Good grief!
Things are starting to fall into place for us to continue moving things over. It is going slowly, but it is getting there. Maybe we will release 2.0 sometime soon, but I think it is a few months off.
Mark and I have been going at it when it comes to Fire development. We have been making commits like there is no tomorrow. Some of it is polishing up the UI and other parts are designing things better. Whenever we finish this thing, it should be a great improvement.
We are starting to look at release in about 2 months. One can hope that we pull it off.
Well, Alan has been working on PersonItem some (his baby), and I asked him to commit a few things so that I could help him get a kick start. Basically, I am going to do the back-end grunt work for him so that things are easier. So far, I have it pretty much capable of the things that it will need, now for the UI.
Well, the service update branch is now version 2.0. It has a completely new architecture for just about everything, as well has having a new buddy list. I can’t wait to get the thing out the door now. It is stable enough that I, along with many others, have started using it full time.
The Service Update branch has gotten rather good recently. It has hit the point where I am waiting on some other people before I proceed further. Now the question becomes what do I do next in there. Maybe I will tackle the buddy list portion and make it display better. Time will tell what I do there. I don’t think I will work on it too much this weekend though.
